Music
- The Album
- The album "Gothic Dream" is a fictional story about a fallen soldier's quest for spiritual redemption.
- Ascendency is about soldiers dying in battle.
- Ether Journey is the soul's journey to heaven.
- The Fall from Grace is being denied access to heaven and subsequently being cast down to hell.
- Nightmare is about the soul's suffering in hell.
- Serenity is about redeeming oneself and finally ascending to heaven, cleansed of sin.
- Gothic Dream is the actual story of the fallen soldier.
- Ascendency
- Ascendency has the same melodic pattern repeated throughout, although the chords differ per section. The solo section has
a unique melodic pattern.
- Ether Journey
- Along with Serenity, Ether Journey is the joint-slowest song on Gothic Dream, and also has a more light and peaceful
theme to it. It is more or less without any real structure, and any chords are done in the synths rather than by the piano.
The synths are all in B minor, only the piano key changes.
- The Fall from Grace
- The Fall from Grace is entirely chord-based, with melodic patterns being written using chords rather than single notes.
The vocals are aggressive and shouty.
- Nightmare
- Nightmare is dually-melodic and the vocals are death growling. The interludes are like simplified and extended solos, as compared with the solos from Ascendency and Serenity.
- Serenity
- Serenity is a slow and peaceful song, a direct contrast to Nightmare. It is the joint-slowest song along with Ether
Journey and has a much lighter theme than the rest of the album.
- Gothic Dream
- Gothic Dream is a varied song, with a different key for every section and speeds varying anywhere from as slow as 60
beats per minute, to as fast as 150 beats per minute.
