The epic: The epic "Midnight Summer" was a challenge I set myself, some time after writing the EP "The Mellow Sovereign". Looking back on it, I can't remember if I'd completely finished the EP or not, but either way I set myself a challenge to write a 30-minute song in 7 days, with a 3-minute margin of error. Well, I didn't write it in 7 days, I wrote it in 6 days. I was working hard on it, even copying it onto my laptop so that I could work on it during my lunch break at work. Granted, some bits can be quite repetetive, but I don't think it's too bad considering the time frame I developed it in.
